The languages that stand out in Mardin

In the economy of Mardin it is cross-border trade, cultural tourism and agriculture that stand out. That profile also shapes which languages and which types of document the translation requests from the province concentrate on.

The prices below are starting per-page rates on economy delivery; the tariff is the same for every language and does not change from one province to another.

Official certifications

Notarisation and apostille in Mardin

If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Mardin at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:

Notarisation

The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.

Apostille — administrative documents

For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Mardin (or by district governor's offices in the districts).

Apostille — judicial documents

For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.

Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.

The written work of a city that hosts visitors

Two veins shape the demand for translation in Mardin, and each of them produces texts of a very different kind. The first is cultural tourism: the architectural fabric of the city and its historical layers draw foreign visitors all year round, and that creates a need for texts running from accommodation businesses to restoration projects, from tour programmes to museum and visitor material. The second is border trade: the province’s commercial links opening southwards generate transport, supply and customs paperwork. The first group calls for fluency and tone; the second leaves no room for interpretation at all. Two files arriving from the same province can demand two entirely different working disciplines.

The texts that come in from the tourism side

Accommodation businesses send promotional copy, room and service descriptions, booking and cancellation terms, and agency contracts. In these the cancellation and liability clauses are treated as legal text, while the promotional part is written in a tone that meets the expectations of the reader it is aimed at. Restoration and conservation projects bring technical reports, material analyses and project descriptions for translation, and the terminology here has to sit comfortably with the architectural literature. Programme and exhibition texts prepared for cultural events are another regular heading. In all of this we take care that historical and cultural information is carried across without embellishment and in fidelity to the source text.

TextHow it is handled
Promotional and visitor textTone suited to the intended reader, information without embellishment
Booking and cancellation termsTreated as legal text, closed to interpretation
Restoration technical reportConsistency with architectural terminology
Transport and customs paperworkValues and descriptions carried across exactly
Civil registry and title deed documentsAn exact match in the spelling of names and dates

The documents that come in from the trade side

On the border trade side we receive consignment notes, commercial invoices, packing lists, declarations of origin, supply contracts and company registry documents. In these the company name, the product description and the quantities have to agree across the whole set of paperwork; the customs authority on the other side looks at precisely that agreement. Alongside them runs a steady flow of personal documents: civil registry records, marriage and birth certificates, title deed records, powers of attorney and educational paperwork. Family ties on both sides of the border produce these files regularly, and most of them are prepared in certified form for submission to an authority in the country opposite.

The rules we follow on tourism texts:

  • Historical and cultural claims are not expanded beyond the source text.
  • Prices, capacities and the scope of a service are carried across exactly.
  • Cancellation and liability clauses are not simplified.
  • Place and building names are used in their established spelling and are not translated at will.

Menus, signage and welcome texts

These are the texts seen most often in tourism and taken least seriously: menus, directional and information signs, in-room cards, welcome notices and house rules. The first written text a guest sees in the city is very often one of them. In menu translation, giving local dish names in their own form with a short explanation, rather than forcing an equivalent on them, produces a far better result: it conveys accurate information and it does not cheapen the dish. In warnings and rules, by contrast, the meaning must not be softened at all. These short texts cost little, yet they decide directly how a business looks from the outside; you can see which service they fall under on the services page.

Working remotely at the pace of the season

In the tourist season an operator has no time to go from office to office, and on the trade side the paperwork cannot fall behind while a vehicle waits on the road. That is why we run the process remotely from start to finish. You upload the document or the text online, the fee and the delivery date appear at once, the sworn signature and, where required, notarisation are completed at our office in Ankara Kızılay, the electronically signed copy reaches your inbox the same day, and the wet-signed original is delivered to your address by courier. We have no branch in Mardin. You can upload your file to the quote form and check the forms of approval each country asks for on the countries page.
