The languages that stand out in Antalya

In the economy of Antalya it is tourism, greenhouse growing and housing sales to foreign buyers that stand out. That profile also shapes which languages and which types of document the translation requests from the province concentrate on.

The prices below are starting per-page rates on economy delivery; the tariff is the same for every language and does not change from one province to another.

Official certifications

Notarisation and apostille in Antalya

If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Antalya at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:

Notarisation

The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.

Apostille — administrative documents

For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Antalya (or by district governor's offices in the districts).

Apostille — judicial documents

For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.

Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.

What generates demand for translation in Antalya is not the tourists but the people who stay. Those who come for a holiday have no need of documents; the foreign national who buys a home, renews a residence permit, enrols a child at school or sets up a company here certainly does. The great majority of the files that come from the province belong to this process of settling in.

This gives the demand two distinct features. The first is repetition: the same person comes back over the years with similar documents. The second is multilingualism: a single family’s file may contain three different source languages. This is also what separates Antalya from the other tourism provinces; demand rests not on a season but on a permanent, settled population.

Residence permits and the renewal cycle

A residence permit application is not a one-off but a recurring process. At every renewal the passport, the address and housing documents, the health insurance policy and an income declaration or bank statement may be asked for again. Where applicants have settled as a family, the marriage record, the children’s birth certificates and any custody orders join the file as well. Some of these documents come from the country of origin and are therefore translated into Turkish; others are issued in Türkiye and are translated into the language of the other country.

The recurring pattern offers an advantage: a set of documents put in proper order in the first year means that at subsequent renewals only the items that have changed need translating. That is why fixing the spelling of names and addresses from the outset matters.

School enrolment and recognition

The heading foreign families find hardest is their children’s education. School reports, academic transcripts and student certificates from a foreign school are put through a recognition procedure in Türkiye, and placing a child in the right year depends on those documents being rendered accurately. Because marking systems differ from country to country, the rule is that marks are not converted but given as they stand, with an explanatory note.

Why Russian and Ukrainian each matter in their own right

Antalya is one of the few provinces where these two languages have to be handled separately. The documents come from different authorities, rest on different registration systems and follow different rules for rendering names; using one in place of the other creates problems in an official procedure. German is used in the everyday affairs of a long-settled population, and English both as a shared language and as the language in which third-country documents arrive. We have gathered what different countries expect by way of approval on the countries page.

The tourism businesses and their own paperwork

Alongside individual files, Antalya has a second stream of work: the running of hotels and travel agencies. Before the season opens, allocation and rate agreements with foreign tour operators, liability and cancellation terms, insurance texts and guest information documents are all prepared. The commercial consequences of these texts are immediate: an ambiguously translated cancellation clause can open up a serious difference in cost in mid-season.

On the staffing side there are the files of foreign employees: employment contracts, professional qualification certificates, medical reports and letters from previous employers. In seasonal employment these files have to be prepared quickly and in bulk; handling them as a group rather than one by one is both faster and cheaper.

The third item is material aimed at guests. It does not require sworn translation, but rendered wrongly it turns straight into complaints – safety notices and house rules above all. Separating out at the start which texts need sworn translation and which need only an ordinary one makes a visible difference to a hotel’s budget.

Getting ready before you join the queue

We have no branch in Antalya; the work is completed at the office in Ankara, and the wet-signed copy usually reaches you by courier within two or three working days. If the date of your appointment is known, that period can be planned for; the real mistake is to start gathering documents three days before the appointment. Because the electronically signed copy is in your hands the same day, you can see early on whether the file is complete. Upload your documents here.
