Translation Memory (TM)
A database that stores previously translated sentences as source–target pairs so they can be reused in later work; known as TM.
A translation memory records every sentence translated together with its source and its rendering. When the same or a similar sentence appears in a new text, the system offers it – so repetitive content stays consistent and the work moves faster.
The benefit is clearest in high-repetition material: manuals, contracts and product copy that is updated regularly. As the memory grows, a client’s preferred phrasing and terminology are also carried forward consistently.
On long-running projects, çeviri.tr uses translation memory together with a termbase to hold that consistency.
