Termbase
A structured glossary holding approved source and target renderings of the terms specific to a project or field.
A termbase is the reference that fixes which word will render which concept in the target language. The translator consults it while working, so the same term appears in the same form everywhere in the text.
On projects run by larger teams, or over long periods, a termbase is what allows different translators to meet on a common language. A client’s preferred corporate terms are entered into it as well, preserving brand consistency.
On substantial work, çeviri.tr uses a termbase together with translation memory to secure consistency.
