Style Guide
The reference document setting out the language, tone, spelling and formatting choices for a project.
A style guide defines in advance how a translation should sound: whether the tone is formal or conversational, how numbers and dates are written, which terms are preferred. Different translators can then meet on common ground.
In corporate content in particular, keeping the brand voice identical across every document depends on this guide. Where a termbase fixes the concepts, a style guide fixes register and form; together they make a consistent whole.
