Official certifications

Notarisation and apostille in Sakarya

If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Sakarya at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:

Notarisation

The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.

Apostille — administrative documents

For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Sakarya (or by district governor's offices in the districts).

Apostille — judicial documents

For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.

Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.

The group that generates the most demand for translation in Sakarya is neither the factories nor the exporters; it is the students. That is the direct consequence of being a university city: at the beginning and the end of every academic term a pile of documents has to be got ready for recognition, admission, scholarship and visa files. We have built this page around student and academic mobility files for the same reason.

The most marked feature of student files is how seasonal they are. Demand surges in certain weeks of the year and all but stops for the rest of it. Knowing that rhythm is useful to you: having the same document prepared two months ahead rather than in the busy weeks is cheaper, and it leaves time for corrections should something turn out to be missing from the file. This is the advice we most often give on enquiries from Sakarya.

The anatomy of a student file

The file of a student going abroad is made up of three layers. The first layer is the record of study: diploma, academic transcript, course descriptions, certificate of graduation. The second layer is personal paperwork: civil registry record, passport information page, criminal record. The third consists of the documents showing financial standing: bank statement, sponsor’s undertaking, letter of income. All three layers go into the same file but are obtained from different institutions, and for that reason they are never ready at the same moment.

For international students coming to Türkiye the flow runs the other way: the diplomas and mark sheets obtained in their own countries are translated into Turkish and added to a recognition application. In the enquiries that come from Sakarya, these two directions are more or less evenly balanced.

Why course descriptions are a job of their own

The bulkiest item in recognition and transfer applications is the course descriptions; on their own they can run to hundreds of pages. What has to be watched here is that course titles and the credit system are carried across consistently. When the same course appears under one name in the transcript and another in the descriptions file, the institution carrying out the assessment may take them for different courses. On work of this kind we settle the transcript first and draw the course titles from there.

The reason for German, English and Arabic

English predominates because it is the common language of international academic applications. German is called for both in postgraduate choices and in the technical correspondence of the province’s automotive industry. Arabic runs in two directions: in the recognition files of international students from the region, and in the personal formalities of the settled population. You can see which rate applies to which language on the languages page.

Financial documents in scholarship and visa files

The part of a student file that comes back most often is not the academic documents but the papers showing financial standing. Bank statements, sponsors’ undertakings, letters of income and property documents all have to point to a particular date range and a particular sum. Errors of translation in these documents generally appear not in the figures but in the descriptions of account types and currencies.

Another detail is the documents establishing the sponsor’s relationship to the student. A civil registry extract or a full civil registry extract may be required to prove the family tie, and the terms for relatives in these documents have to be given their proper equivalent in the other language. Where the degree of kinship is carried across wrongly, the sponsorship may not be accepted.

Finally, the order of dates matters. Because financial documents are valid only for a short period, the most sensible plan is to have the academic documents prepared early and the financial ones close to the application. On student files from Sakarya we take the two groups separately and complete the academic part during term.

A process completed without leaving the campus

We have no office in Sakarya, but on student files this is scarcely felt at all: most application systems accept documents by digital upload, so the electronically signed copy is enough. A wet-signed copy is needed only for documents to be handed over in person at enrolment, and it usually arrives by courier within one working day. On bulky work such as course descriptions, starting early also brings the fee down; urgent delivery costs extra. Upload your file and you can see the page count and the date at once.
