The languages that stand out in Bolu

In the economy of Bolu it is tourism, forest products and the food industry that stand out. That profile also shapes which languages and which types of document the translation requests from the province concentrate on.

The prices below are starting per-page rates on economy delivery; the tariff is the same for every language and does not change from one province to another.

Official certifications

Notarisation and apostille in Bolu

If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Bolu at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:

Notarisation

The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.

Apostille — administrative documents

For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Bolu (or by district governor's offices in the districts).

Apostille — judicial documents

For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.

Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.

Bolu lies at the exact midpoint of the line between İstanbul and Ankara, and that position shapes the province’s economy and its demand for translation alike. Accommodation businesses, nature tourism, forest products and food production all sit side by side. What the files from here have in common is that most of them concern a guest, a supply chain or a season.

The texts of the accommodation sector

For hotels and resorts, translation does not stop at promotional copy. Booking and cancellation terms, group and event contracts, supplier agreements, and safety and operating instructions all fall within the same scope. In a province where winter tourism stands out, activity participation declarations and liability texts carry particular weight; in these documents a balance has to be struck between holding on to the legal meaning and keeping it within the guest’s grasp.

Forest products and food

The second strand comes from production. In timber and wood products it is product classifications and dimension tables that are translated; on the food side it is ingredient lists, analysis reports and supplier specifications. The volume in these files is usually moderate but the structure repeats, and that yields a real saving in both time and cost once a pool of terms has been built up.

The balance between English and German

In Bolu, English is used as the common language on the tourism side and the production side alike. German is asked for on two separate counts: trade carried on with buyers and suppliers in Europe, and the affairs that families in the province have abroad. You can see what this demand comes to on the tariff on the pricing page.

Menus, allergens and guest information

The item accommodation businesses most often overlook is the menu. Yet a menu is a text that carries commercial and liability consequences at the same time: where the allergen information in it is incomplete or wrongly conveyed, the result can be serious. In the menu translations that come from Bolu we recommend leaving the names of the dishes as they are and adding a short description of the contents underneath; that way the local name is preserved and the guest still knows what is on the plate.

Guest information texts are handled on the same principle. In-room operating instructions, house rules, emergency procedures and activity safety warnings should be built from short sentences that leave no room for hesitation. In texts of this kind, long and indirect phrasing weakens the force of the warning outright.

Then there is the matter of online visibility: property descriptions on booking platforms, room descriptions and cancellation terms. In these texts it matters that the promotional language be kept apart from the binding terms. The promotional part can be written to suit the reading habits of the target language, whereas the cancellation and charging terms have to be carried over to the letter.

With group bookings and event organisation it is the contractual side that weighs heaviest. Agreements for meetings, weddings or corporate events set out numbers of guests, cancellation tiers, charges for additional services and force majeure clauses. In these clauses the numerical thresholds and the dates must be carried across exactly; the latitude allowed in promotional copy disappears entirely here.

There is a steady flow on the supply side as well. In the equipment and materials that hotels and resorts buy from foreign suppliers, the contracts, warranty terms and user manuals are translated into Turkish. So the work coming from Bolu moves in two directions: part of it outward, part of it inward.

Menu translation also has an updating cycle of its own. On cards that change with the season there is no need to translate the whole text afresh each time; the terminology of the previous version is kept, so only the items newly added have to be worked on.

Not waiting until the season opens

In tourism businesses the need for translation usually appears in a single mass just before the season opens: menus, terms and contracts are all updated at the same moment. That pile-up is more practical to handle remotely – the files go in one batch, the amount is visible in advance, and the delivery date is planned around the opening of the season. Being close to Ankara also means the approved copy arrives quickly. The types of document we work on are set out on the translation services page.
