The languages that stand out in Giresun
In the economy of Giresun it is hazelnuts, fishing and highland tourism that stand out. That profile also shapes which languages and which types of document the translation requests from the province concentrate on.
The prices below are starting per-page rates on economy delivery; the tariff is the same for every language and does not change from one province to another.

Notarisation and apostille in Giresun
If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Giresun at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:
Notarisation
The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.
Apostille — administrative documents
For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Giresun (or by district governor's offices in the districts).
Apostille — judicial documents
For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.
Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.
Most of the files that come from Giresun have to do with trade, and at the centre of that trade sits the hazelnut. Unlike Ordu, though, part of the demand in Giresun arises not from the product itself but from the correspondence that settles prices and quality standards: long-running contracts with buying firms, quality complaints and undertakings on security of supply.
Contract texts and dispute correspondence
In international trade in goods, the language of the contract becomes decisive the moment a dispute arises. Delivery terms, quality tolerances, penalties for delay and the clauses on the governing law are the parts of the translation that demand the greatest care. A choice that softens the meaning in these clauses can create a serious cost later on. On contract work originating in Giresun we proceed by confirming the legal terms with the client.
Russian: the language of the market next door
The commercial relationship built with the far shore of the Black Sea has made Russian the province’s second language. Product documents, correspondence on payment and delivery, and agency agreements are requested in it. English, meanwhile, is used both with international buyers and in banking and insurance processes. You can see the rates for these two languages on the pricing page.
| Document | Critical section | Language most often requested |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase contract | Quality and tolerance clauses | Russian, English |
| Analysis report | Measurement values | English |
| Dispute correspondence | Statements of liability | Russian |
| Vessel and fishing papers | Standard terminology | English |
| Texts for tourism businesses | Cancellation terms | Russian |
Highland tourism and fishing
The highland tourism that picks up over the summer months brings the texts of accommodation and tour operators onto the agenda; fishing brings vessel and crew documents. Work from these two areas is small in volume but high in urgency. A vessel document or a booking condition can seldom be left until the following day. We have set out the scope on the translation services page.
Banking and payment paperwork
The least discussed side of foreign trade, and the one that produces the most documents, is payment. Letter of credit texts, letters of guarantee, correspondence with banks and documents relating to the collection of export proceeds are a regular part of the files that come from Giresun. These texts are highly formulaic; when everyday renderings are used in place of the wording accepted in banking, the document is not taken forward.
In letter of credit translations the most critical part is the clauses setting out the payment terms and listing the documents to be presented. A phrase missing or added here can hold up payment. For that reason we translate these texts line against line and keep the numbering of the source exactly as it stands.
In guarantee and surety texts it is the periods and the amounts that are decisive. Where a document gives figures both in words and in numerals, the agreement between the two is checked separately; if there is an inconsistency in the source text, it is not corrected in the translation but reported to the client. Quietly repairing a fault inside a document while translating it can turn into a far larger problem later.
Insurance documents belong to the same family. In cargo insurance policies the scope of cover, the exclusions and the periods for notifying a loss are the decisive clauses. The terms used in these sections are settled ones in the industry; when they are swapped for everyday equivalents, the scope of the policy can become open to argument.
With claim files, time pressure comes into it. Because the notification periods are short, incident reports, survey reports and correspondence have to be translated quickly. In work of this kind, delivering the electronically signed copy the same day often saves the deadline; the wet-signed copy follows behind.
There is also a problem of mixed languages in these documents. Part of the banking correspondence already arrives in English, with only the annexes in Turkish. With files like these, settling at the outset which sections are to be translated prevents both unnecessary cost per page and confusion.
The personal work that comes from Giresun runs quietly alongside all this commercial density: civil registry records, powers of attorney, student certificates. Small in volume but spread evenly across the year, this demand forms the second strand of the province’s translation needs.
Giresun is not a province where we have a branch; the translation and the approval are completed at the office in Ankara. The province is far from Ankara in courier terms, but that is not what really decides matters: because the notification periods on insurance claim files are short, delivering the electronically signed copy the same day often saves the deadline, and the wet-signed copy follows behind.
The cost of distance falls to nothing
Giresun is among the provinces that are far from Ankara in courier terms. But no stage of the translation process requires physical proximity: the file arrives online, the translation and the approval are completed in Ankara, and the electronically signed copy comes back the same day. Only the wet-signed original brings a courier period of a few days into it, and most commercial transactions have no need of that copy at all.
The information here is provided for guidance; in a process run remotely the original document may be required. Confirming the current requirement before you apply saves time.
