Regional demand
The languages that stand out in Ordu
In the economy of Ordu it is hazelnut production and exports, and fishing that stand out. That profile also shapes which languages and which types of document the translation requests from the province concentrate on.
The prices below are starting per-page rates on economy delivery; the tariff is the same for every language and does not change from one province to another.

Notarisation and apostille in Ordu
If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Ordu at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:
Notarisation
The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.
Apostille — administrative documents
For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Ordu (or by district governor's offices in the districts).
Apostille — judicial documents
For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.
Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.
The calendar of the translation work that comes from Ordu is tied to the calendar of the hazelnut. Contracts arrive before the harvest, shipping and analysis documents during it, and payment and dispute correspondence after it. There are not many provinces in Türkiye where translation demand is bound so plainly to the season of a single crop.
The chain of documents behind a hazelnut export
Behind a single consignment of hazelnuts lies a longer run of paperwork than one might expect: the purchase contract, the quality and calibre requirements, analysis reports, the certificate of origin, carriage and insurance papers, and sometimes correspondence about a delay or a dispute over quality. The most critical point of the translation in these documents is the product classification and the measurement values; a calibre range carried across wrongly can lead to the whole consignment being rejected.
Why Russian is asked for so often
The commercial relationship built with the Black Sea basin has made Russian the second most requested language in the province. Contracts with buying firms, payment and delivery terms, product documents and official correspondence are all wanted in it. English, as the common ground of international trade, turns up somewhere in almost every file. The rate per page is the same in both languages; the detail is on the pricing page.
| Period | Documents that cluster there | Urgency |
|---|---|---|
| Before the harvest | Purchase and supply contracts | Planned |
| The harvest period | Analysis, origin and shipping papers | High |
| After shipment | Payment and dispute correspondence | Moderate |
| Throughout the year | Fishing and vessel papers | Varies |
| Throughout the year | Personal and educational documents | Depends on the application |
Fishing and personal files
Overshadowed by the hazelnut though it is, fishing generates document needs of its own: vessel and equipment papers, seafarer certificates, sales and catch records. The personal side resembles that of the other Black Sea provinces: civil registry records, powers of attorney, student application documents. We have gathered the document types for which we provide sworn translation on the translation services page.
Processed products and the brand side
Alongside the hazelnut sold raw there is a branch of the trade that turns it into a processed product, and that branch generates different documents. For goods that are roasted, chopped or ground into a paste, what gets translated is the packaging text, the ingredient and allergen information, the shelf life and the storage conditions. Because these texts are subject to regulation once a product reaches a retail shelf, a free rendering can stop the product being sold.
On the brand side come promotional texts, the product story and sales presentations. A word-for-word translation rarely achieves the intended effect in these; what is needed is a way of telling that suits the habits of the target market. Even so, the freedom stops at any sentence carrying product information: the proportion of ingredients, the details of origin and the nutritional values are never reworded under any circumstances.
Personal work coming from families abroad also holds a steady place. The family ties that reach from Ordu into Europe bring civil registry records, powers of attorney and pension correspondence onto the agenda. Overshadowed by the commercial files though they are, these documents are spread across every month of the year.
Exporting a processed product has a certification side too. Application files for the certifications the buying country requires, audit reports and plant details are translated on a regular basis. Because these files are renewed each year, the terminology settled in the first translation saves a considerable amount of time in the years that follow.
On the fishing side the jobs are smaller in scale but they arrive at irregular times. Vessel documents, catch and sales records and insurance correspondence are usually wanted the same day. Having these two strands side by side makes the flow of work from Ordu both seasonal and sudden.
There is no branch of ours in Ordu, and the translation and the approval run at the office in Ankara. During the harvest an exporter has no time to go into the city centre for a translation in any case, and once documents are photographed on a phone from the warehouse, the quayside or the factory and sent in, which province a branch sits in loses its importance. The electronically signed copy comes back the same day, and the courier brings only the wet-signed copy.
