Transliteration
Rendering a text letter by letter from one writing system into another alphabet, according to the sounds represented.
Transliteration carries the spelling rather than the meaning, making a word readable in the letters of a different alphabet. A name written in another script, for instance, is set down in Latin letters in a form matching its pronunciation.
