Official certifications

Notarisation and apostille in Bartın

If we are handling the certification, you need not visit any office in Bartın at all. If you would still like to know where each step is completed:

Notarisation

The sworn translator's signature is certified by a notary. The fee is governed by the 2026 Notary Fee Tariff, is the same throughout Türkiye, and is a separate item from the agency's charge.

Apostille — administrative documents

For administrative documents such as civil registry extracts, diplomas and criminal record certificates, the apostille is issued by the Governor's Office of Bartın (or by district governor's offices in the districts).

Apostille — judicial documents

For judicial documents such as court judgments, the apostille is issued by the judicial justice commission in centres that have a serious crime court. Not every province has one; where it does not, the matter goes to the centre it is attached to.

Source for the notary fee: Official Gazette 30.12.2025 / 33123 — the official announcement. For the current list of notaries, see the Union of Turkish Notaries.

Bartın is one of Türkiye’s smaller provinces, and the volume of translation work reaching us from there is in proportion. It has one interesting feature, though: the jobs that come in are not scattered but repetitive in nature. The same businesses come back at regular intervals with similar documents. That makes the work easier and, over time, gives it a real consistency.

The work produced by the port and the forest

Port activity brings cargo and shipping paperwork, while forest products bring export documentation. In timber and forest products, product classification, dimensional and quality information and source documents are translated regularly. Documents from the port side are shorter but more pressing: a consignment left waiting means cost, so on those files turnaround is usually spoken of in hours.

The advantage of repeat files

When the same business comes back with similar documents, the gain in translation is cumulative. The terminology settled in the first file is waiting ready for the next; product names, units of measurement and company names come out in the same form every time. That both reduces errors and shortens delivery. In small provinces this continuity cannot be achieved through arrangements set up job by job.

Student and family documents

The presence of higher education in the province creates a seasonal demand for diplomas and academic transcripts. Work coming from families gathers around civil registry documents and powers of attorney concerning relatives abroad. English is the language of the first group, German of the second. We have listed the languages in which we provide sworn translation on our languages page.

Academic texts and translation for publication

The presence of higher education in the province generates demand for academic texts alongside student documents. Article abstracts, conference papers, project applications and correspondence about joint work all arrive in this category. These texts call for an approach entirely different from official document translation: the aim here is not word-for-word transfer but a fluent, defensible text built with the terminology the field accepts.

Abstract translation is this work in its most concentrated form. A few hundred words have to carry the method, the findings and the conclusion in full; the reviewer often reaches a decision here before going on to the text as a whole. For that reason we rebuild sentence structure in abstracts to match the academic writing conventions of the target language.

Field terminology is decisive too. The same Turkish term can have a different equivalent in different disciplines, and without knowing which field is involved it is impossible to make the right choice. So on academic work we choose the translator according to the subject and confirm doubtful terms with the author.

In international collaborations the texts become formal. In joint research protocols, exchange agreements and letters of intent, the obligations of the parties and the clauses on intellectual property and publication rights come to the fore. A phrase left vague in those sections can turn into a matter of dispute for as long as the collaboration lasts, so we keep the level of binding force explicit within the text.

On the student mobility side the need is plainer: academic transcript, student certificate and course descriptions for recognition. Adding a short explanation of how the grading system works makes the assessment at the receiving institution markedly easier. We always settle that addition together with the applicant.

The delivery calendar of academic work has a character of its own as well. Journal and conference deadlines do not bend, so delay is not an option on these files; clarifying the scope of the job at the outset prevents everything piling up on the final day.

Continuous service in a small province

We have no branch in Bartın, and there is no need for one. Because documents arrive online, no stage of the process depends on physical distance; the translation and the approvals are completed in Ankara, the electronically signed copy reaches you the same day and the wet-signed copy by courier. The fixed cost of opening an office in a small province is not reflected in the price, and the tariff stays the same in every province. You can see the fee and the delivery date on the quote form.
